Pelion’s climate is affected by the moist winds coming from the Aegean Sea, resulting to cooler summers and colder winters in the east mountain side than in the west mountain side. In the lowest mountain zone the climate is typically Mediterranean, with a mild and rainy winter and a longer and dry summer. At an altitude over 1400m., winter becomes heavy with a snow depth that can reach 2 to 4m at the east mountain side, while summer is cool.
