Ski Tourism Pilion Skiing Centre
Mythical home of the Centaurs, Pilion is an amazing combination of mountain and sea landscape, rising to an imposing height north-east of the city of Volos. At Agriolefkes, 1500m from sea level at the summit of Pilion, there is the Pilion Skiing Centre, founded by the Greek Alpine Club of Volos. The first ski lift was opened in 1967. The infrastructure and amenities have steadily improved, and the centre is continually being modernized. Since 1997 the centre has been run by the Magnesia Development Enterprise SA.
The centre is 27km from Volos and 2km from the mountain village of Hania. Set within a forest of wild poplar and beech, the centre is like a grand balcony with a panoramic view of the sea.The refuge can accommodate 80 people and boasts a restaurant, cafe and bedrooms. There are three car parks with space for 800 vehicles and a first aid station.The slopes are served by a total of five ski lifts, able to carry 2500 persons per hour.
There are two single-seat chair-lifts and one double-seat lift linking the lowest point of the slopes with the starting point at the top, as well as two T-bar lifts (platter and baby lift).The slopes are a total of 12km in length.here are three main downhill runs and a network of snow trails linking them, and connecting them to the parking areas.There are also cross-country skiing pistes (Langlauf) and beginners' slopes, while work is currently under way on constructing a large piste with an even gradient.There is a skiing school at the centre with qualified skiing instructors, as well as shops where you can rent the necessary equipment (snowboards, etc.)

Summer Activities in Ski centre
High on Mt. Pilion, at 1500m above sea level, set in a forest of beech and wild poplar, lies the Mountain Centre for Sport and Leisure Activities, with a panoramic view of the sea below.
