A thousand choices... a single destination

Sourpi

Amaliapoli

Amaliapoli lies 58km from Volos, in a sea of pines and olive trees; it is built in the form of an amphitheatre, its streets laid out in a highly satisfying design.
There are two natural harbours, one of them protected from the open sea by the little island of Kikynthos, on which stands the picturesque chapel of Aghios Nikolaos, built by craftsmen from Trikeri in 1805. The history of the village dates back to mediaeval times and has continued uninterrupted to the present day.

Monastery of Panayia Xenia

At Amaliapoli the visitor can enjoy his vacation in the village's immaculate hotels and rented rooms, sample the traditional seafood appetizers and visit the new monastery of Panayia Xenia, while boats are available for excursions on the Pagasitic Gulf, to the northern Sporades and Evoia.

Nies

Just 8km from Amaliapoli lies Sourpi, centre of the municipality of the same name, whose harbour is Nies, the 'harbour of the Myrmidons', the port from which Achilles embarked for the Trojan War. There is a picturesque beach ideal for both bathing and fishing.
