Municipality of Sipiada

On the southern ridge of Pelion, 56km from Volos, lies Lafkos, centre of the Municipality of Sipiada. The village is laid out on the hillside like an amphitheatre among the dense olive groves. In the central square of Lafkos the giant plane trees offer peace and relaxation. The stone fountains, stone-built houses, well-maintained cobbled paths and trails, the endless stretches of beach on both the Pagasitic and Aegean shores - all the different features of the area make up a picture the visitor will find unique.

Relax and swim in safety from the spotlessly clean beaches forming a small natural harbour; take part in all kinds of water sports; try diving at Mikro, close to Platania and relish the genuine hospitality of the local people.

Milina also belongs to the Municipality of Sipiada. Where the ancient city of King Philoctetes, Olizon, once stood, is now the picturesque fishing village of Milina, a popular summer resort.

Take a boat to the Aghioi Saranta monastery, opposite Milina on the little island of Alatas, and the Zoodochos Pigi Monastery at Prasouda.

Visit the mountain village of Promyri, with its centuries-old history, attested to by the rich archaeological remains in the region, and the village harbour Platanias. Visit the nearby beaches at Mikro, Katigiorgis, Lyri, Tzasteni and Mortia. You'll never forget the experience.
